Halloween and Bonfire toffee Apples

Apples are an extremely versatile fruit, suitable for eating both cooked or raw, hot or cold, in sweet or savoury dishes. There are said to be at least six thousand British varieties in the U.K. and there are around fifty or so grown commercially in Britain. Over ten thousand varieties have been identified internationally but only a tiny portion of these are widely available. Apples grow anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere, south of latitude 65oN, and also in similar climates in the Southern Hemisphere, providing they get adequate cold resting period in winter.  more...
