Keep eyes peeled for Santa’s town tour

VISITORS to Bewdley's Christmas Market will be in the running to win a new car as Santa begins his tour of the town.

Members of Bewdley Round Table are staging three collecting events next month to raise money for local charities and good causes.

The first will be at the market on December 1, where a new car will be up for grabs for anyone who manages to roll seven sixes with dice in a competition.

On the following Saturday, December 8, there will be a collection during the Santa fun-run, organised by the Bewdley Chambermaids.

People dressed as Santa Claus or Mrs Claus will run along Severnside and around the Riverside Meadows. That evening, the Christmas collection will begin. Santa will visit all the streets in Bewdley to collect money for local causes and charities.

The route is: Meadow Rise, Wynn Close, Lingfield Road, Dunmore Road, Belvedere Crescent, Heathfield Road, Delamere Road, Hilltop Avenue, Jordans Walk, Warstone Close, Trimpley Lane, Habberley Road, Threlfall Drive, Campion Way, Kidderminster Road (Catchems End to Bypass), New Road, Kidderminster Road (Catchems End to Queensway), Lodge Close, Queensway, Hoarstone Close, Cordle Marsh Road, Riddings Close, Shaw Edge Road, Damson Way, All Saints Avenue, Spring Hill Rise, Wassall Drive.

The following day, December 9, Santa will collect from Kidderminster Road (Queensway to Beales Corner), Spencer Avenue, Wheatcroft Avenue, Gloucester Way Clarence Way, Mortimer Grove, Marsh Grove, Maypole Close, Station Road, Stephenson Place, Brunel Court, Severnside Mill, Stourport Road, Acacia Avenue, Sandbourne Drive, Sandbourne Road Brookvale, Northwood Lane, Nursery Road, Riverway Drive, Beales Corner, Severnside South, Lax Lane, Lower Park, High Street, Welch Gate, Dog Lane, Dowles Road, Woodthorpe Drive, Valley Gardens, Sabrina Drive, Venus Bank, Severnside North, Load Street.

On Saturday, December 15, the tour will take in Park Lane, Park Close, Orchard Rise, Telford Drive, Snuffmill Walk, Rosenhurst Drive, Barratts Close, Hernes Nest, Highclere, Birch Tree Road, Branches Close Forest Close, Merricks Lane, Fort Mahon Place, Oakwood Road, Merricks Close, Grosvenor Wood, Wyre Hill, Hales Park, Ironside Close, White Heart Close, Elton Road, Morella Place, Arley Place, Waterloo Road, Cherry Close, Severn Way, Pine Tree Road, Hawthorn Crescent, Greenbank Road, Wyre Hill, Park Dingle, Valley View.

During the last day of the tour, on December 16, Father Christmas will arrive at Yew Tree Lane, Yew Tree Close, Richmond Road, Muskoka, Church View, Patchetts Lane (Hollow Top Section), Lyttleton Road, Cobham Crescent, Lancaster Road, Ingram Crescent, Baldwin Road, Tudor Road, York Road, Richmond Road, Lakes Road (remainder), Lakes Court Road Coniston Way, Elan Close, Bramley Way, Ellesmere Drive, Laxton Drive, Merton Close, Russett Way, Lambourne Drive, Derwent Drive, Newton Close, Dry Mill Lane, Hop Pole Lane, Cleobury Road.
